Revision Assignment: Web Monsters

This piece was originally written for my Digital Rhetorics course, where we discussed theories and forms of online rhetoric and conversation. My final assignment was to create anything relating to the internet, and I decided to create a game. However, this game was rushed and I was left unsatisfied. For my Writing Design & Circulation course, the capstone to my Writing Minor, I was tasked with revising an old piece and rewriting it to fit an entirely new form, and so I decided to rework my game's rulebook into a review of the game itself.

 

This was a tricky paper to write, because it required me to take on a much more casual writing style than I'm used to. However, I think that I successfully captured a lot of the quirks of the online game review genre, and provided a reasonably thorough dissection of the game without making it overwhelming. I believe that this piece shows my ability to grow and reflect on my own works, as well as my growth as a writer and a creator.
